Suriname Entry Fee: What Travelers Need to Pay
Looking for the Suriname tourist card? For most eligible visitors, the current official process is the online Entry Fee — not the older Tourist Card.
The Suriname Entry Fee is a government entry voucher that most visa-exempt visitors must pay before travel. The Government of Suriname designated VFS Global to collect it online. It is not a visa, and it is not the historical Tourist Card.

What is the Suriname Entry Fee?
The Entry Fee is a fee paid to be admitted to Suriname for tourism or family visits. Travelers apply online, pay, and receive a voucher to show at check-in and on arrival.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation publishes the current rule. VFS Global operates the online portal as the government's designated partner — not an unrelated commercial form seller.
Who pays the Suriname Entry Fee?
VFS currently describes the fee for travelers entering via Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport, or via French Guiana or Guyana. Most visa-exempt visitors pay it. Confirm your nationality on the official portal.
Government exemptions currently include CARICOM passport holders, Vatican City passports, diplomatic and service passports, UN Laissez-Passer holders, valid visas still in the passport, PSA documents or cards, Suriname residents, and airport-transit passengers who do not leave the airport.
Children aged 0 through 2 are currently exempt. From age 3, eligible children still require an Entry Fee.
How much is the Suriname Entry Fee?
The Government of Suriname currently sets the single Entry Fee at USD 50 or EUR 50. VFS currently lists a service fee of USD 8 or EUR 8 on top of that government amount.
A Multiple Entry Fee voucher currently costs USD 75 or EUR 75. Official ministry notices describe it as valid for three months from first arrival, with up to five entries, still within the legal maximum stay of each visit.
When and where do I pay?
Pay online before travel. The ministry currently says payment is made through the VFS Global website. The voucher is emailed as a PDF.
Airport cash payment at Johan Adolf Pengel and Zorg en Hoop was discontinued. Do not assume you can buy the voucher on arrival at those airports.
Is the Entry Fee a visa?
No. For eligible tourism and family visits, the Entry Fee is the admission voucher — not a visa sticker and not an eVisa product for every traveler.
Some nationalities still need a visa or eVisa. The official VFS portal lists who uses Entry Fee versus visa categories. Check that list for your passport instead of copying a blog country's rule.
Looking for the Suriname tourist card (toeristenkaart)?
The Tourist Card was Suriname's earlier short-stay product. From 1 July 2022 the government replaced visa-free tourist admission, for most travelers, with the Entry Fee.
If you are searching how to apply for a Suriname tourist card, the current official step for eligible visitors is to pay the Entry Fee on the government-designated VFS portal and travel with the voucher.
Is there a separate immigration or customs form?
The Entry Fee voucher is not itself an immigration or customs declaration. Ministry pages have also referred to an Immigration and Customs Form as part of arrival. This guide does not invent a second branded digital form URL that we could not verify as the current official portal.
Follow airline, airport and border-officer instructions for any paper or digital declaration on the day of travel, and use only government or government-designated sites.
Where is the official payment site?
Use suriname.vfsevisa.com — the portal named by the Government of Suriname for Entry Fee payment. Confirm the address, HTTPS padlock and Republic of Suriname / VFS branding before you pay.
